Happy Canada Day weekend...

better late than never right?!
For you American's..."Happy almost 4th of July".

I know I sound like a broken record but, I. Love. Langley.

I'm wondering when this shock and awe will dissipate? I loved growing up in Vernon and we had an amazing 8 years in Calgary but I feel like I've come home here. Weird?! We still don't have tons of friends (the people we have met are pretty great!) but we are surrounded by a yard full of beauty and the possibility of beauty and we're encompassed by our family.

Maybe that's it.

I've never lived around family before and here we are immersed. My mom and dad are a mere few hours drive away and my in-laws are minutes. It's perfect!

What brought this on you ask? Well, I had a friend from Calgary stop by on their way to the Island.

Every time someone comes for a visit I see our place again through new eyes. I see the piles of dirt, branches and rubble of course but I also see the towering cedars, lush green grass and beautiful flowers. I also see all our future plans for this place. And do we have plans!

Most of all I hear the happy screams of our kids as they hide in the brush, play on their own playground and splash through the sprinkler.

I feel this deep sense or "rightness" if that's even a word.

Which brings us to .... Canada Day

We had a family BBQ here around our fire pit. So fun! We ate and drank and roasted marshmallows late in to the night. My pics aren't ready yet so... check back:)

What people on weight watchers can eat cake and smokies???!!! Well, I won't tell if you don't ;-)

Looks like the summer sun is actually here!
Enjoy!
