better late than never....

Well I meant to come by and wish you all a very happy Valentine's Day or as it's better known at our house....gorge-yourself-on-candy-day.
Photo of a valentines day card and heart shaped box of candy.

We started the day late. We all slept in. That silly alarm just rang and rang. Didn't our alarm realize this was a fake, Hallmark holiday? I mean, have some respect!

We had a couple of sick kids today so it was good that there was not much planned for us. Troupers that they are, they managed to eat their candy even when they couldn't eat much real food. I know, they have real commitment to our special non-holiday.

I put my running kit on which is as much exercise as I actually got today, unless you count the lifting of hand, to m & m bag, to mouth. Have I mentioned my inability to say no to m & m's? (only rivaled by my addiction to those Mini Eggs!)

I made an amazing meal, red meat (special treat for the men in my life), amazing garlic mashed potatoes and chocolate cake.
We are not quite the eaters we used to be and couldn't even tackle the cake! I actually had to lay down for a bit after the steak. I'm hardcore, I know!

In all seriousness, I am truly blessed by all the love that surrounds me. It was a wonderful, restful, uneventful day. It was perfect! My hubby even brought me flowers.

Thanks sweetie:) I love you too!

You couldn't even tackle the cake??? Shay, I am SO disappointed. You need to come to Norway for some retraining, my friend.

Glad you had a lovely day. That picture of your hubby is great! Made me laugh out loud :)

Oh Shay, you are so funny! Fake Hallmark Holiday indeed! What a good reminded that we should all have more respect! It's so funny (interesting, not HAHA) that kids CAN find it in themselves to eat candy anytime, even when they are full or don't feel good! I guess they did their part. And hubby and I aren't big eaters either. I made my special lasagna for dinner last night, and the family barely made a dent in it. Argg! They better eat the leftovers---that stuff's expensive and time-consuming to make! Yeah, I'm in the spirit, baby!

I had a stomach virus yesterday and STILL managed to eat my daughter's candy. :)

My 2-year-old woke up this morning asking, "where's my candy?" Oh dear.

Sounds like you had a perfect non-holiday!

There's always room for cake. That's why it's so squishy and sponge-i-fied. It will fit into your stomach even though you don't feel like you have room. Just let the power of cake work for you!

I have to ask- What is a running kit? Obviously, I don't have one.

Glad your day was relaxing and full of sugar. I actually went to bed with a stomach ache last night. I hadn't eaten that many carbs in quite some time and don't think I will again. Gag.

We also have an M&M addiction at our house:) Any suggestions?

So my oldest kids are 3 and in preschool 2 mornings a week. Yesterday morning was the Valentine's party. When did Valentine's become a second halloween? I gave the kids cards to take and they brough home a bag of candy. Literally. Why was I the only one who didn't know you're supposed to attach a candy or chocolate to each card?

They need a parents handbook for these kinds of things.

Happy Valentine's Day!! Those flowers are so pretty! My poor hubby only got homemade peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips.

Aw Shay, Valentine flowers rock. Hubby gets an A+ for that. And we had sick kids too. What's up with that? I blogged about our adventure (yes, I dared to leave the house, sick myself, with 4 sick kids. I'm smart like that.)
Oh, and Reeses are my weakness (obviously; I named my oldest son Reece, lol).
Blessings,
~Toni~
